Is Ant-Man the new giant of the NBA?

Anthony Edwards has been a revelation this season, entering his name in the upper echelon of NBA superstars.

But, as we witness a changing of the guard this postseason, the question becomes: Is Edwards ready to become the next face of the NBA?

Edwards’ Timberwolves just completed a first-round sweep of Kevin Durant’s Suns and Ant-Man impressed even going up against his idol. In fact, earlier this week on GoJo and Golic, Mike Golic Jr. saw a bit of old school in the new-school superstar.

Rachel notes that normally going into a playoff series the common logic dictates that the team with the best player will win that series. Going into the series, she notes, some people would have looked to Devin Booker or Kevin Durant to be the best player on the floor. She says there’s no question that Ant-Man turned out to be the best player in the series. But is Boogie ready to say that Edwards is a better player, at this point, than Booker or KD?

In a word, yes.

He says obviously Booker is an amazing player and this is no knock to Book. But rather this is just praise for Ant-Man, who Boogie says elevated his play to a level above that of anyone on Phoenix’s side en route to leading his team to a sweep. Boogie says Edwards is a star and his energy, his charisma, everything was all on display in this series.

Boogie is even ready to take it a step further — Ant-Man is not just the best two-guard in the league, but rather is one the biggest stars in the league, period. Boogie says Ant-Man has “Young Jordan” vibes. This isn’t a 28-year-old doing all this, Boogie reminds us — it’s a 22-year-old!
