The Lakers staved off elimination on Saturday, finally breaking their recent postseason trend of choking away early-game leads to Nikola Jokic and company. Now, the series heads back to Denver, where the Nuggets will look to finish the job.
In this article, I’m going to break down my favorite NBA player prop on DraftKings Sportsbook for Game 5 of Nuggets-Lakers. Without further ado, let’s get into it.

Denver Nuggets vs. Los Angeles Lakers — Game 5
Anthony Davis Over 39.5 Points + Rebounds (-125)
I highlighted this exact prop — at a slightly deflated total of 37.5 — ahead of Game 2, and Davis cleared it with ease.
In fact, AD has absolutely smashed this total in every matchup of this series so far. Even when he didn’t score as much as usual in Game 4, his 23 rebounds put him well over the top.
Nikola Jokic is a tough matchup for every big man on the planet, specifically because his offensive proficiency forces guys to spend more energy attempting to contain him. That said, while the Lakers haven’t found consistent success against the Nuggets as of late, Davis has. The superstar averages an impressive 29.6 points and 11.5 rebounds against the Joker in the playoffs, and those individual accomplishments have continued in this series.
AD only averaged 35.5 minutes per game in the regular season, but he hasn’t played fewer than 39 yet over the last four contests. HIs usage rate has also spiked drastically in this series, eclipsing 30% three times.
If the Lakers are going to win another game and truly make things interesting, it’s going to be because of another huge performance from Davis.
