There are a trio of Game 3s in the 2024 NBA Playoffs Friday evening, with the Suns trying to avoid a 3-0 hole against the Timberwolves while the Bucks, Pacers, Clippers and Mavericks all look to create a bit of separation with their series tied at 1-1. With plenty of star power on display, bargain plays are likely going to make the difference for DFS managers in tonight’s contests.
In NBA DFS, you can find quality value plays $5K or under that can give you a quick 10 points off the bench, grab some rebounds, or stuff the stat sheet. We are going to provide you with three players that you need to put in your lineup.
T.J. McConnell, Pacers, $4,400
McConnell was quiet in the first two games of the series, failing to keep building on his five-game stretch to close the regular season where he averaged 33.5 fantasy points per game. The backup guard tends to play better at home where Indiana’s offense has gone into high gear all season, so there’s a good chance he bounces back here. The Bucks rank 17th in fantasy points allowed to opposing point guards and might be even more hampered defensively if Khris Middleton is out or limited by his ankle injury. I like McConnell as a value add Friday.
Terance Mann, Clippers, $4,100
The Clippers won Game 1 with Mann heavily involved, and lost Game 2 as the combo guard saw less usage. I think Los Angeles gets him more playing time in Game 3, which will benefit his fantasy output. The Mavericks, despite their recent defensive improvement, rank 27th in fantasy points allowed to opposing guards. I’d back Mann at this price point to put up big numbers, especially since I think the Clippers will cut down their rotation a bit to give Mann more playing time.
Eric Gordon, Suns, $4,000
Grayson Allen is listed as questionable due to an ankle injury, so there’s a possibility the guard won’t play or will be limited. That opens up minutes for Gordon, who put up an all-time stinker in Game 1 of this series before showing some signs of life in Game 2. The Timberwolves are an excellent defensive team but Gordon’s potential volume and upside as a three-point shooter are hard to ignore in this particular contest. I think the veteran gets going Friday and delivers a great outing at this price.
