The Buffalo Bills can never get out of their own way. Instead of keeping their first-round pick at No. 28 on Thursday night, the Bills opted to trade down with the rival Kansas City Chiefs. The Bills will be on the clock first with the 33rd pick in the second round on Friday evening and the city of Buffalo may implode on itself if the team doesn’t select a wide receiver. We’re going to go over their options at wideout with the 33rd pick, should they choose to go that route.

Who should Bills take in second round at WR?
Adonai Mitchell, Texas
Back when the Bills traded Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans, we wrote a bit about who the Bills could look to grab at WR in the draft. Mitchell was being selected for Buffalo in a lot of mock drafts. He makes a ton of sense at pick No. 33 here. Mitchell has big-play potential, good size and speed, and would be a nice replacement for Diggs as a deep threat.
Ladd McConkey, Georgia
McConkey drops to the second round, which isn’t all that surprising. He projects as more of a possession receiver with average size and decent speed. McConkey is a good route runner but can he develop into a top wideout? With QB Josh Allen, it’s certainly possible and perhaps that’s why the Bills are content waiting on a WR in a very deep class. There’s also a chance a lot of these prospects don’t pan out, so there’s risk waiting until McConkey to make a move.
Keon Coleman, Florida State
Coleman drops in the second round as of now because of his 40-yard dash time of 4.61. Coleman still has good speed and quickness to get off the line and into his progression. The appealing thing here is the size at 6-foot-3 but if Mitchell is there, why would the Bills opt for Coleman? Perhaps they’re fine waiting until pick No. 60 to snag a wideout but that might mean Mitchell, McConkey and Coleman are all off the board.
Ja’Lynn Polk, Washington
Polk spent last season hauling in passes from QB Michael Penix Jr., who was a surprise pick in the top-10 by the Falcons. Polk has all the tools to become a top wide receiver in the NFL. He has good size, can go up and grab balls over smaller defenders and has decent speed. If Polk were to land in Buffalo, it may be the perfect situation for him with a QB like Allen.
