WR Malik Nabers: NFL Draft scouting report

The LSU wide receiver mill has churned out another outstanding pass catch in Malik Nabers. Nabers set the LSU record for receptions and receiving yards, as he truly went off last season, catching 89 passes for 1,569 yards and 24 touchdowns. He was an explosive playmaker, averaging 17.6 yards per reception.

Malik Nabers: Scouting Report

Nabers’ suddenness in and out of breaks is so smooth and quick that defenders just can’t keep up. He’ll either catch a screen and blow by you or blow by you for a deep ball. Either way, he’s going to put tremendous stress on a defense that is trying to mitigate big plays (every defense). He’s not exactly raw, but there is room for him to refine his game still, which is scary.

Nabers sets the table for his route-break filth by throttling tempo and movement patterns unpredictably, almost like a cat playing with a mouse. For different reasons than Harrison Jr., you cannot strand someone on an island with Nabers. In fact, last year, Nabers slightly bested Harrison Jr. in PFF receiving grade percentile against single-coverage. — Thor Nystrom, FantasyPros

Mock Draft landing spots

There have been reports that Nabers could be the No. 1 wide receiver on some draft boards, but the majority do have him behind Marvin Harrison Jr. That’s not a knock on Nabers but instead shows you just how good MHJ is. His most mocked to team has been the New York Giants, but they could also try for a quarterback like J.J. McCarthy. Nabers is the favorite at +145 to go to the Giants and would make sense if they can’t find an upgrade on Daniel Jones in the first round.

Fantasy football implications

Nabers has big play ability with any quarterback and would be the no-doubt No. 1 receiver in the majority of the possible landing spots he has. His upside will be very high and should be a WR2/3 on your fantasy teams unless he finds his way into a tougher situation than he likely will.
