The 2024 NFL Draft begins on Thursday, April 25 and runs through Saturday, April 27 as the 32 NFL franchises select the newest members of their teams. This year’s quarterback class has some highly-anticipated names in the mix, but one QB who has been resting quietly in the background of these discussions is Tulane’s Michael Pratt.
Pratt was a four-year starter with the Green Wave, and had his banner year in 2022, passing for 3,010 yards, 27 touchdowns, and five interceptions. He was named the AAC Offensive Player of the Year in 2023 after passing for 2,406 yards, 22 touchdowns, and five interceptions.
Pratt is expected to be a Day 3 selection, landing somewhere between the fourth and sixth rounds of the draft.

NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein describes Pratt as an experienced and safe option who may have some big roadblocks to success at the next level.
Highly experienced and a respected team leader, Pratt has shown consistent improvement from season to season. Pratt has done a nice job of making safe decisions instead of reckless ones and throws with touch over all three levels. He struggles to throw with consistent accuracy and placement on intermediate throws. Also, he appears to lack the anticipation and field awareness to beat NFL coverage across the field. Pratt has Day 3 potential but will be in a battle to win a future backup role.
Mock Draft landing spots
The mock drafts floating around this week have Pratt landing in a number of different places. The Titans, Colts, Saints, Dolphins, Cowboys, and Falcons are all potential destinations for Pratt, as all of those franchises are set on their starters and will be looking for a reliable backup.
Fantasy football implications
No matter where Pratt lands in this draft, he will not be expected to be a starter in 2024, and is even unlikely to be developed as a future starter. His value in dynasty and re-draft leagues is on the lower side, and we can expect Pratt to be a career backup who can fill in on the field when needed.
