Golf picks: Outright winner picks for the 2024 Zurich Classic

The 2024 Zurich Classic of New Orleans tees off this week from TPC Louisiana. This is a pairs event that will take place in both foursome and four-ball formats, with fourball (or best ball) on Thursday and Saturday and foursomes (or alternate shot) on Friday and Sunday. There will be a cut after 36 holes on Friday, and the field is made up of 80 pairs of golfers.

Last year, Nick Hardy and Davis Riley took home the title in the Big Easy. Here are our top picks to win it all in 2024. All odds are courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.

Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay +450

Schauffele and Cantlay enter as the favorites at DraftKings, and won the event in 2022. Cantlay ranks seventh in the field in total strokes gained over the last three months, and Schauffele leads the field. This pair have had a strong start to 2024, with Schauffele finishing in the top 10 in four of his past six events, and Cantlay grabbing a T3 at last week’s RBC Heritage. They struggled in four-ball last year, costing them a repeat title, but certainly have the juice to grab a second win at TPC Louisiana.

Collin Morikawa and Kurt Kitayama +1600

Morikawa is fresh off a fantastic performance at Augusta and a top-10 finish at the RBC Heritage, and Kitayama ranks ninth in the field in Strokes Gained: Tee to Green. Morikawa has previously played this event with Max Homa and Viktor Hovland, and has struggled to find his footing, but he’s on a roll heading into this year’s tournament. Kitayama has made nine cuts in 10 starts in 2024.

Tom Hoge and Maverick McNealy +2500

Hoge’s ball striking has been impressive as of late, and he ranks fourth in the Zurich field in total strokes gained over the past three months. Hoge also ranks second in Strokes Gained: Approach over the last six months and had a top-15 finish at Zurich last year. McNealy brings consistent putting and several 2024 top-15 finishes to this team, and the two could heat up through the weekend.
