The Philadelphia 76ers had a sight for sore eyes in the second quarter of their first round matchup against the Knicks. All-star Joel Embiid appeared to suffer a knee injury. Embiid made a terrific self alley-oop play, but after landing immediately fell to the court in agonizing pain.

The star big man was helped to the locker room, but did not seem to put much weight on the knee. This is significant news considering Embiid missed nearly two months with a meniscus injury. Embiid averaged 30.0 pts and 10.0 rebs against New York in the regular season.
Official word on whether he’ll return is unknown. We’ll keep an eye out for any updates.
