Jordan Montgomery, over 3.5 strikeouts (-185)
Monty will make his debut against the San Francisco Giants on Friday night. The worry for this bet would be that since it is his first start of the season, he may get pulled early. Still, he was among the best available free agents after helping the Texas Rangers to a World Series win. A lot can change in a year, but he struck out at least six hitters in each of his two starts against the Giants last year.
Mookie Betts, over 0.5 hits (-245)
Betts went hitless in his last game but is still slashing .369/.470/.667 on the season. He has a great matchup on Friday against New York Mets southpaw Sean Manaea. Betts is 10-29 against the lefty in his career, with two doubles, two triples, and three home runs.
Nolan Arenado, over 0.5 hits (-155)
Arenado is riding a seven-game hit streak heading into Friday’s game against the Milwaukee Brewers. He will face Milwaukee starter Freddy Peralta, against whom he is 9-25 with four home runs in his career. Arenado is hitting .299 on the season and should come away with at least one hit in Friday’s game.
