This marks Golden State’s second trip to the play-in tournament and it has a 0-2 record in these games. In 2021, the Warriors fell to the Los Angeles Lakers 103-100 in the 7-8 matchup, a game that was decided by a LeBron James three with 58.2 seconds left. The team would then go on to lose a 117-112 overtime battle against the Memphis Grizzlies in the No. 8 seed matchup, bring a disappointing end to their season.
While that play-in trip was not successful, the franchise would bounce back the following year by winning the 2022 NBA Finals as the No. 3 seed in the West.
