By: Chinmay Vaidya

The quarterfinal round of the 2023-24 Champions League will conclude Tuesday, April 16 and Wednesday, April 17 with second leg action. Two of the contests will be a “winner take all” situation, one features a home side trying to come back and another has a home side trying to hold onto its lead. All games are available to stream on Paramount+, with the Barcelona-PSG and Manchester City-Real Madrid games also airing on CBS.

We’ll go through everything you need to know about each match, along with odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook and our predictions.

Champions League quarterfinal second leg picks

Borussia Dortmund vs. Atletico Madrid – Tuesday, April 16, 3 p.m. ET (1-2 aggregate)

Moneyline odds
Borussia Dortmund: +125
Draw: +270
Atletico Madrid: +210

To advance:
Borussia Dortmund: +190
Atletico Madrid: -240

The German side will try to find some magic at home after falling behind early in the first leg in Madrid. Borussia Dortmund come into this contest after a 2-1 win over Borussia Mochengladbach despite going down to 10 men for much of the second half. Atletico Madrid have little margin for error here with just a one goal lead on aggregate but have confidence after a 3-1 win over Girona.

We’re going to be without a few goalscorers from the first leg in the second leg. Sebastian Haller, who got a late goal for Dortmund, is out with a foot injury. Jadon Sancho and Donyell Malen should be able to go, although their impact might come off the bench. Memphis Depay remains out for Atletico Madrid, with Vitolo and Thomas Lemar also likely out. Samuel Lino, a goalscorer from the first leg, is suspended in this one.

While I do believe Dortmund can get a goal at home to level things, I don’t think they have enough firepower to get multiple goals without conceding to a red-hot Atletico team at the moment. I’ll take a draw in this one, with Atleti advancing thanks to the difference on aggregate.

Pick: Draw +270
Pick to advance: Atletico Madrid -240

Barcelona vs. Paris Saint-Germain – Tuesday, April 16, 3 p.m. ET (3-2 aggregate)

Moneyline odds
Barcelona: +120
Draw: +295
PSG: +200

To advance:
Barcelona: -425
PSG: +320

These two sides were involved a high-scoring affair last week, with Andreas Christensen’s late goal being the reason Barcelona gets to come back home with a one-goal advantage. The Catalan club is coming off a 1-0 win over the weekend against Cadiz. PSG have had the entire week off and aren’t too concerned about Ligue 1 play anyway, so they should be well-rested ahead of this colossal clash.

Christensen is suspended and won’t be available for this game, along with Sergi Roberto. Gavi and Alejandro Balde are still out, but there’s a chance Pedri is able to suit up here. For PSG, Achraf Hakimi returns after being suspended in the last game. Presnel Kimpembe remains out, along with Layvin Kurzawa.

I do think the week off will benefit PSG, who have enough firepower to overcome a one-goal deficit on aggregate. Hakimi coming back along with Barcelona’s continued troubles in the midfield will be a nice boost for the French side, who pull off a stunner away from home.

Pick: PSG +200
Pick to advance: PSG +320

Bayern Munich vs. Arsenal – Wednesday, April 17, 3 p.m. ET (2-2 aggregate)

Moneyline odds
Bayern Munich: +140
Draw: +270
Arsenal: +180

To advance:
Bayern Munich: -125
Arsenal: +100

Bayern and Arsenal played a thrilling first leg at the Emirates which was clouded by a late non-call on Manuel Neuer’s potential foul against Bukayo Saka that could’ve given Arsenal a penalty to take a 3-2 lead. The sides now head to Germany amidst a rough patch for both clubs.

The Bundesliga title reign is over for Bayern, who watched Bayer Leverkusen secure the league title over the weekend. The German giants are coming off a win over Koln and now have their primary focus on this competition. Arsenal lost Sunday to Aston Villa to see their Premier League edge slip away, so the Gunners were probably caught looking ahead to this encounter.

Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry are out for Bayern, while Leroy Sane is considered questionable. Gnabry scored in the first leg against his former club. For Arsenal, the statuses of Saka and Martin Odegaard are up in the air, while Gabriel and Gabriel Jesus are both expected to be available.

As much as I’d like to believe Arsenal can go to Allianz Arena and get a win, I think Bayern have a renewed focus for this season and prevail at home.

Pick: Bayern Munich +140
Pick to advance: Bayern Munich -125

Manchester City vs. Real Madrid – Wednesday, April 17, 3 p.m. ET (3-3 aggregate)

Moneyline odds
Manchester City: -165
Draw: +340
Real Madrid: +425

To advance:
Manchester City: -310
Real Madrid: +235

If you look at things like expected goals, you’ll know this scoreline is incredibly misleading. The two sides were expected to score 1.58 goals combined, so clearly there were some improbable goals in this first leg. The scene now shifts to England and Etihad Stadium, where Man City haven’t lost a match all season.

The injury list is long for Manchester City, and Pep Guardiola admitted his team are tired and need some rest after playing four games in 10 days. Phil Foden, John Stones, Kyle Walker and Rodri are all considered questionable for this clash. Aurelien Tchouameni is set to miss the game for Real Madrid due to suspension, while Rodrygo is questionable. The Spanish side are coming into this game off a 1-0 win over Mallorca Saturday.

Despite the potential absences, Man City have enough depth to field a world-class side. This is a similar scenario to what played out last season, when both sides came into the Etihad in the second leg tied on aggregate. City won that second leg 4-0. While I don’t think it’ll be that lopsided, I don’t see any other winner in this one.

Pick: Manchester City -165
Pick to advance: Manchester City -310
