The Los Angeles Dodgers are off to another fast start, entering their series at home against the San Diego Padres 10-5 and looking to keep things rolling on offense.

Los Angeles Dodgers (-192, 9) vs. San Diego Padres

The Dodgers entered the series sixth in the league in runs per game at home with nearly 5.9 runs per game and will look to improve those numbers against Padres starter Matt Waldron, who’s had issues giving up home runs.

Between his first season at the Major League Baseball level and 2024, Waldron has a 4.26 ERA and 4.95 fielding independent with 1.8 home runs per nine innings allowed and has to try to keep the ball in the yard against a Dodgers lineup that entered the series hitting nearly 1.6 home runs per game at home since 2023 began.

The Padres lineup also enters this series in good form at the plate, ranking 10th in the league with more than 5.3 runs per game and will look to touch up young Dodgers starter Gavin Stone.

Stone has struggled in his appearances at the MLB level with a lifetime 9.00 ERA in 10 appearances with 1.8 home runs and 3.9 walks per nine innings.

Behind Stone is a bullpen that has also struggled, entering the series 19th in the league in bullpen ERA at 4.61 while the Padres entered the series with a 5.01 ERA, which ranked 21st.

With two strong offenses going against a pair of young starters going pitchers that have struggled early in their career, Saturday’s game in Los Angeles figures to feature plenty of runs.
