It is finally here! Super Bowl 58! The season feels like it goes by in a blur, while the two weeks between the Championship round and the Super Bowl feel like you asked a sloth to build you a new roof in a rainstorm. Sloths are not good with home repair!
But we are here now and we have the two best teams in the league about to matchup for the right to lift the Lombardi Trophy in the victorious culmination of a long, hard fought season.
Below here I’ll give you all the highlights and hub-bub from the big game. Stay tuned!

49ers 22 – Chiefs 19
And another field goal! The field goal fest continues as Jake Moody hits his third of the game, this time from 27 yards out to take the lead. The Chiefs now have to kick a field goal to tie or score a touchdown to win on this next overtime possession.
49ers 19 – Chiefs 19
We’re going to overtime!
The Patrick Mahomes drove Kansas City down into the red zone, but didn’t have enough clock and Harrison Butker kicked another field goal to tie it up.
49ers 19 – Chiefs 16, 1:57 left in 4th quarter
The 49ers move the ball well, but stall out, giving Jake Moody a shot at a 53-yard field goal, which he nails to put the 49ers up by 3. I hear Mahomes’ music.
49ers 16 – Chiefs 16, 5:49 left in 4th quarter
The Chiefs drive down to near the goal line, but the 49ers defense holds them to another Butker field goal, which ties up the game.
49ers 16 – Chiefs 13, 11:27 left in 4th quarter
The 49ers answer the Chiefs with a Brock Purdy to Jauan Jennings touchdown. Jennings has now thrown for and caught a touchdown in this game. Nick Foles is the only other player to do that in a Super Bowl. Jennings is your current frontrunner for Super Bowl MVP. Oh, and Jake Moody’s extra point was blocked, keeping the Chiefs within a field goal.
Purdy. Jennings. 49ers back up 16-13!

Wow, the game just flipped! Patrick Mahomes hits Marquez Valdes-Scantling for a touchdown after the Chiefs punted the ball away, but were able to recover after it hit a 49ers player’s foot.

Halftime: 49ers 10, Chiefs 3
It’s halftime! The Chiefs were able to add a short field goal before half by Harrison Butker to make it 10-3 49ers. The Chiefs get the ball first in the second half and hope to get things going, as the 49ers defense has been all over Mahomes and company.

Freak injury for the 49ers Dre Greenlaw, who was running back on the field when he hurt his leg. The cart has come out and it doesn’t look good at the moment.

Right after the big play to Hardman, running back Isiah Pacheco fumbles it back to the 49ers in the red zone. This is the craziest 3-0 game ever.

Ex-49ers running back Jerick McKinnon is expected to play. This appeared to be a long shot at the beginning of the week. How much he plays is unknown, but he wouldn’t be active if he wasn’t ready to go. He soulc cut into the number of routes Isiah Pacheco ends up running tonight.

Betting odds
Point spread: 49ers -2
Over/under: 47.5
Moneyline: 49ers -120, Chiefs +100
You can fence sit on this game pretty well, as long as you say — the 49ers really matchup well with the Chiefs on paper and have the better roster overall, but you can never count out Patrick Mahomes! That’s all you need to say and then go about your day with the knowledge that you’ll be right no matter what!

Super Bowl Injury Report
The Kansas City Chiefs will be without offensive lineman Joe Thuney, while running back Jerick McKinnon is questionable. McKinnon has been on I.R. with a groin injury and will likely be inactive despite getting limited practices in this week.
The San Francisco 49ers are healthy and ready to roll.
When will the halftime show start?
With kickoff happening around 6:30 PM eastern, the halftime show should start 90 to 120 minutes after that. You should start checking a little before 8 PM eastern to see how much time there is before halftime and Usher.
Interesting stats
In beating both Buffalo and Baltimore on the road the past two rounds, Kansas City has now moved to an 8-3 record (9-1-1 against the spread) as an underdog with Patrick Mahomes as their starting quarterback with a 3-0 record in the postseason.
To provide some further context to how absurd that is, Mahomes has made 96 starts in the regular season and now 17 starts in the postseason. He has been an underdog just 11 times. Only three other quarterbacks have a winning record as an underdog over that span and one of those (C.J. Stroud at 5-4) has only a one-year sample on his resume. The others are Lamar Jackson (10-5) and Ben Roethlisberger (10-9). That includes last season’s Super Bowl when the Chiefs were 1.5-point underdogs against the Eagles.
