Latest injury updates for Eagles WR DeVonta Smith ahead of Wild Card game vs. Bucs

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith is dealing with an ankle injury ahead of their Wild Card matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday. He suffered the injury in their Week 17 loss to the Arizona Cardinals a few weeks back and missed their regular season finale against the New York Giants last Sunday.

Smith is one of a handful of key players for the Eagles dealing with an injury ahead of Monday’s road playoff matchup. Fellow wideout AJ Brown suffered a knee injury in last Sunday’s loss to the Giants while quarterback Jalen Hurts suffered a gnarly finger injury in the first half of the contest.

DeVonta Smith injury updates

Friday update: Smith practiced in full once again. He will most-likely be removed from the injury report on Saturday. The team may need him more than usual, as A.J. Brown has yet to practice this week.

Thursday update: Smith was officially a full participant at practice on Thursday. That means there’s a very good chance he’s good to go for the Wild Card matchup vs. the Bucs. AJ Brown was a non-participant at practice and it appears he’s more in danger of missing the game. Expect a designation for Brown. QB Jalen Hurts was limited and could carry a tag into Monday night. But the chances of Hurts playing seem pretty likely.

Thursday early PM update: Smith told reporters that he felt good and he would be on the field for the Wild Card matchup against the Bucs on Monday. He couldn’t speak to the status of his teammate Brown, but it appears that the third-year wideout will be on track to play in this playoff matchup. We should see how he was listed on the Eagles’ practice report shortly.
