The Philadelphia 76ers (23-12) and the Atlanta Hawks (14-21) will both look to snap two-game losing streaks when they face off Wednesday evening. These teams have met twice before this season, with the 76ers winning both games. However, Philadelphia did have Joel Embiid for both games and the Hawks were down Trae Young in the most recent contest.
Embiid is out for the 76ers tonight, along with Robert Covington. De’Anthony Melton is questionable with a back issue. Young is probable for the Hawks, while Clint Capela is questionable. De’Andre Hunter is out with a knee issue.
The Hawks are 1.5-point favorites according to DraftKings Sportsbook, with the total coming in at 244. Atlanta is -122 on the moneyline while Philadelphia is +102.
76ers vs. Hawks, 7:30 p.m. ET
Pick ATS: Hawks -1.5
Philadelphia is 2-6 straight up without Embiid in the lineup, which makes sense given how the reigning league MVP is playing. Even Tyrese Maxey and Tobias Harris in the fold, it’s hard to see the 76ers keeping pace with Atlanta’s offense. The Hawks are actually the worst ATS at home this season with a 2-12 mark, but are 5-9 straight up. Look for Atlanta to start this key five-game home stand with a win over the Embiid-less Sixers.
Over/Under: Under 244
Even though Atlanta is 11-3 on overs as the home team, these teams actually went under this line in both previous contests. Embiid has already been ruled out, which means the 76ers take a huge hit on both sides of the floor. Even though the Hawks rank third in points per game, this number is too high to feel good about the over. With the reigning league MVP out, the under is the safer play.
