Washington Huskies running back Dillon Johnson injured his foot in the final minutes of the College Football Playoff semifinal game at the Sugar Bowl. Johnson left the field and did not return. He is expected to be able to play on Monday as the Huskies take on the Michigan Wolverines in the 2024 national championship.

Johnson is not just a key piece of Washington’s rushing attack, is is the key piece. The RB1 has added up 1,162 rushing yards this season. The next-highest rushing yardage comes from Will Nixon, who finished the year with 194 yards on the ground — almost 1,000 fewer yards than Johnson. Johnson found the end zone 16 times this season, including twice in the Sugar Bowl against Texas, and added 166 receiving yards to his stat line, as well.
