Jaguars WR Christian Kirk a surprise inactive for Week 18 vs. Titans

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Christian Kirk is inactive for Week 18 vs. the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. Kirk was expected to return to the lineup for the regular-season finale with the AFC South division title on the line. QB Trevor Lawrence is active and will face the Titans, who have a chance to eliminate the Jags from playoff contention.

Reports all week were saying Kirk was set to return to the lineup. We’re unsure what changed or if Kirk suffered a setback. Jacksonville may be playing it safe with hopes of winning Sunday and making the postseason. Then, Kirk can return next week in the Wild Card round.

The Jaguars will have WR Zay Jones in the lineup as he’s active. Kirk had been sidelined with a groin injury since the beginning of December. The Jags still have WR Calvin Ridley and RB Travis Etienne to lean on offensively. But Kirk was going to be a very appealing play in fantasy football given his price in NFL DFS on DraftKings ($3,000). Instead, you’re going to want to adjust your DFS lineups with Kirk inactive.

The Jaguars are 3.5-point favorites on the spread on DraftKings Sportsbook over the Titans this week. Jacksonville can clinch the AFC South division title and No. 4 seed in the AFC with a win. That would mean the Houston Texans, who defeated the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday, would be the No. 7 seed in the AFC. A Jags win eliminates the Pittsburgh Steelers from playoff contention.
