The Los Angeles Rams will take on the San Francisco 49ers in Week 18 of the regular season. The 49ers have already secured the No. 1 seed and have nothing to play for, so will start Sam Darnold, resting Brock Purdy for the playoffs, per Clayton Holloway.
We already knew that Christian McCaffrey, who suffered a calf injury in Week 18, was out and it was assumed OL Trent Williams would rest with his own injuries, but now with Purdy out, we can assume the team isn’t going to give the main starters much work, if any this week.
On the other side of their Week 18 game, the Rams are also resting their starting QB Matthew Stafford for backup Carson Wentz. The Rams are locked into the playoffs, but will have either the No. 6 or No. 7 seed once Week 18 wraps up. They will also likely rest other key starters.
