Week 13 of the NFL season wraps up with a Monday Night Football showdown between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Jacksonville Jaguars. Kickoff from EverBank Stadium is set for 8:15 p.m. ET on ESPN/ABC, with Jake Browning and the Bengals entering as clear underdogs against Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars.

Here are some of the best options to consider as you prepare your DFS lineup strategy for Monday night’s primetime matchup.

NFL DFS Showdown strategy: Bengals vs. Jaguars

Captain’s Picks

Trevor Lawrence, QB, Jaguars ($16,200)

After a nightmarish performance in a loss to the San Francisco 49ers, Lawrence has bounced back mightily in the last few weeks. In last week’s win over the Houston Texans, he finished 23/38 for 364 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in a dramatic victory.

Those 364 yards marked a season-high for him, and despite a tough matchup against Cincinnati, there’s no question that he’s deserving of the captain’s pick based on how he’s playing as of late.

Ja’Marr Chase, WR, Bengals ($14,100)

Chase remains the Bengals’ best offensive player right now, and even if it’s Jake Browning throwing him passes he remains too valuable to not garner the captain’s pick. He still finished with a decent 12.1 DKFP after catching four passes for 81 yards against a tough Steelers defense. Perhaps there’s some hope for garbage time production or even a touchdown score on Monday night.

FLEX Options

Calvin Ridley, WR, Jaguars ($9,200)

Make it back-to-back weeks in double-digit scoring for Ridley, who totaled 21.9 DKFP in a win over the Texans last week. The veteran wideout torched Houston for 89 yards and a touchdown score, and perhaps it’s all of the fantasy players that benched Ridley suddenly providing a source of motivation.

That is now consecutive top-10 WR performances from Ridley, who remains a valuable flex play at home in Week 13.

Joe Mixon, RB, Bengals ($7,000)

Mixon underwhelmed last week with just eight carries for 16 yards, but to be fair, he did face a tough defense in the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Jaguars are a bit of a softer matchup, and with Browning reportedly dealing with a right wrist injury, it opens the door for Cincinnatti to lean extra heavily on the ground game as a safety net.

Players to Avoid

Tyler Boyd, WR, Bengals ($5,600)

Make it back-to-back weeks of struggling performances for Boyd, who’s posted stat lines of 5.2 and 5.3 DKFP over his last two games. Browning’s wrist injury doesn’t bode well for Boyd’s standing in the passing game, and truth be told he hasn’t been a reliable option for much of this season, even with Joe Burrow dropping back to pass. Only those in desperate need would consider starting Boyd this week.

Zay Jones, WR, Jagurs ($5,200)

With the emergence of Ridley in the passing game it’s become difficult to trust Jones when it comes to plugging him into DFS lineups. Jones had just 12 catches on 22 targets for just 98 yards and two touchdowns in his lone four games heading into Week 12. And then last week, he mustered just one catch on three targets for 10 yards. He should be off the DFS radar until further notice.
