Who’s improving, who’s falling in Super Bowl 58 odds after Week 16

Week 16 was highlighted by massive matchups between the Miami Dolphins and Dallas Cowboys, and the Baltimore Ravens taking on the San Francisco 49ers. There are only two weeks left of the regular season, and then the playoffs begin in early January. With little time left, which teams are improving and which are falling in odds to win Super Bowl 58?

Who had the best Week 16 performance?

It’s hard to overlook the Dolphins’ win over the Cowboys. They got a much-needed win over a team with a winning record, and they held strong at home. The game felt like a playoff game, and the Dolphins came out on top despite an injury to wide receiver Jaylen Waddle.

Which favorites have work to do?

Dallas’ is already locked into a playoff spot, but a win over the Detroit Lions while coming off a loss to Miami would likely do a lot to increase their odds.

The Eagles also need to do more, if only to convince themselves. They’re 10-4 and have lost three games in a row. Dropping games to San Francisco and Dallas are fine, despite both being by at least 20 points, but Week 15’s three-point loss to the Seattle Seahawks with a backup quarterback was just bad.

Which 8-7 AFC team is the most dangerous?

The Jacksonville Jaguars, Indianapolis Colts, Houston Texans, Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals all head into Week 17 with an 8-7 record. It feels like the Texans are the most dangerous. Even though they don’t have Tank Dell, they are expected to get back rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud. He gives them much more of an advantage than the Case Keenum/Davis Mills combo that we saw the Texans go with in Week 16. Houston feels like it has the best chance of playing to its potential. It would be the Jags’, but another injury to Trevor Lawrence, plus the concerning comments after the game from him and head coach Doug Pederson, has Jacksonville’s outlook not looking great.

Here’s a full list of Super Bowl 58 odds heading into Week 17 and how they compare with the opening numbers, Week 1, and last week. All odds are courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.
