The Los Angeles Rams fell to the Baltimore Ravens in an overtime thriller in Week 14. Down 31-28 after a Ravens’ comeback, the Rams were able to nail a field goal with seven seconds left to force OT. Baltimore would run back a punt in overtime to seal the victory, dropping the Rams to 6-7 on the season. The Rams are in 8th place in the NFC standings and with four games left, remain well positioned to land a spot with a few more wins. Let’s go over who Rams fans should be rooting for in Week 15.
Sunday update: After defeating the Commanders, the Rams — thanks to losses by the Vikings and Packers — have snuck their way into the seventh seed in the NFC, at 7-7.
Bengals vs. Vikings
Result: The Vikings lost in overtime to the Bengals after blowing a 17-3 lead. The Vikings are now only a half-game up on the Rams in the wild-card race.
Cincinnati and Minnesota face each other on Saturday afternoon. The Bengals are coming off a pair of improbable wins without QB Joe Burrow. The Vikings defeated the Raiders 3-0 in Week 14 to move to 7-6 on the season. Minnesota is in 6th place and is vulnerable with the QB situation shaky. So a loss for the Vikings would allow the Rams to tie Minnesota at 7-7 this week. It opens up the 6th seed; it’s unrealistic to think any of these 6-7 teams can overtake the Eagles at 10-3 in 5th place. The Bengals are 3-point favorites on DraftKings Sportsbook at home.
Bucs vs. Packers
Result: The Bucs beat the Packers 34-20 to move to 7-7 on the season. The Packers fall to 6-8 and the Rams have a chance to move into the 7-seed in the NFC standings with a win.
The other team ahead of the Rams in the NFC standings is the Packers at 6-7. Green Bay defeated the Rams earlier in the season and hold the head-to-head tiebreaker. That means the Packers losing games is paramount to Los Angeles jumping them in the standings. The Packers are 3.5-point favorites over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 15.
Eagles vs. Seahawks
Right behind the Rams in the NFC playoff picture are the division rival Seahawks. Seattle has a tough home game against the Eagles, who we mentioned are firmly in 5th place but still not out of the question for the Nos. 1 or 2 seeds in the NFC. The Eagles are coming off back-to-back tough losses and really need a win this week to keep their NFC East title chances alive. Philly is a 4-point favorite on DraftKings Sportsbook on the road on Monday Night Football.
