How can the Lions clinch a playoff spot in Week 15?

We discuss the scenarios that could see the Detroit Lions clinching a playoff spot in Week 15.

The Detroit Lions have stumbled of late, losing two of their past three games. A 28-13 loss to the Chicago Bears in Week 14 has left the door open in the NFC North. The Green Bay Packers blew their chance to cut into Detroit’s lead, but the Minnesota Vikings won to cut Detroit’s division lead to two games with four remaining.

The Lions can’t clinch the division for at least another week, but in Week 15 they can punch their playoff ticket when they face the Denver Broncos on Saturday evening. They need help even with a win, and here is a rundown of all the possibilities.

Saturday update: The Lions crushed the Broncos to handle their side of business. Earlier in the day, the Vikings lost in overtime to the Bengals. That sets it up so the Lions can clinch a playoff berth with a Seahawks loss to the Eagles on Monday Night Football. They can also clinch with either losses by the Rams and Falcons or the Rams and Buccaneers.

The NFL is kicking off its short run of Saturday football starting in Week 15 now that the college football regular season has come to an end. The Lions host the Broncos in the final game of the day, with kickoff set for 8:15 p.m. ET on NFL Network. Detroit is a four point favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook. While the Lions have stumbled, the Broncos are on a roll. They’ve won six of their last seven games to pull to within a game of the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC West.

Here’s a look at odds for the remaining games that impact the Lions’ playoff scenarios.

Seahawks (+4) vs. Eagles
Packers (-3.5) vs. Bucs
