Update: Celtics fans can breathe a huge sigh of relief for now, as Brown did start the second half after leaving late in the first half with an ankle injury. Hopefully, everything is good and he doesn’t risk aggravation by playing through it.
Boston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown suffered an ankle injury late in the first half of Tuesday’s contest against the Cleveland Cavaliers, going to the locker room after landing awkwardly on a dunk attempt. The injury occurred just before halftime, so there’s unlikely to be an update on Brown until after the break.

The forward was off to a strong start in this game, going 6-10 from the field in the first half en route to 16 points, one assist and one rebound. Brown failed to hit either of his shots from behind the arc, but was instrumental in keeping the Celtics close to the Cavaliers. Cleveland leads 60-59 at the break.
If Brown is unable to return, look for Jayson Tatum and Jrue Holiday to become the primary perimeter scorers on offense. Tatum likely receives most of Brown’s touches, but Holiday could become more aggressive as a driver with Brown out.
