The Dallas Cowboys handled business at home, defeating the Philadelphia Eagles 33-13 to go 10-3 on the season on Sunday Night Football. This game was marred by turnovers from the Eagles star players, including Jalen Hurts, A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, but the Cowboys forced those turnovers and never looked like they weren’t in control of the game.
The loss pushes the Eagles down to 10-3 as well, propelling the Cowboys into the lead in the NFC East due to tiebreakers. But, this win doesn’t push the Cowboys to the No. 1 seed, as the San Francisco 49ers hold that distinction after defeating the Seattle Seahawks to also raise their record to 10-3. That record, coupled with decisive wins over the Eagles and Cowboys, give the 49ers the No. 1 seed coming out of Week 14.
The Detroit Lions lost to the Chicago Bears on Sunday to knock their record down to 9-4, but they still have an outside shot at the No. 1 seed. They have to be kicking themselves tonight.
Remaining schedules for NFC leaders
The 49ers face a relatively easy schedule, at Cardinals, vs. Ravens, at Commanders, and vs. Rams.
The Cowboys don’t have it as easy, at Bills, at Dolphins, vs. Lions, and at Commanders.
The Eagles are still set up well with light matchup at Seahawks, vs. Giants, vs. Cardinals, and at Giants.
While the Lions will be vs. Broncos, at Vikings, at Cowboys, and vs. Vikings to finish up the season.
The 49ers hold the No. 1 seed in their hand and can keep it if they win out. The Cowboys have the same opportunity with the NFC East title. The Eagles and Lions will need help, but the Eagles schedule looks to be the most favorable of the group.
