Patrick Mahomes visibly frustrated at the end of Week 14 loss vs. Bills

Update: Patrick Mahomes talked about the officiating towards the end of Sunday’s loss.

The Kansas City Chiefs fell in a 20-17 loss to the Buffalo Bills in their Week 14 matchup this afternoon and Patrick Mahomes was visibly furious on the sidelines at the end of the game.

On 3rd and 15 with just over a minutes left, Bills edge rusher Von Miller appeared to be offsides on a play where Mahomes’ pass was eventually batted down by Ed Oliver. After his pass attempt on 4th and 15 went incomplete, the QB was seen yelling at the refs on the Chiefs sideline and had to be held back by his teammates.

It was a frustrating end to a frustrating ballgame for Mahomes and the Chiefs, who have now dropped three of their last four ballgames. On their final drives, they seemingly scored the go-ahead touchdown when Travis Kelce lateraled a catch back to Kadarius Toney, who hauled it straight to the end zone. However, the touchdown was wiped off the board as Toney lined up in the neutral zone prior to the snap.

The vibes in Kansas City aren’t great at the moment. The defending champs have struggled on offense for the past month and the play from pass-catchers not named Travis Kelce has been poor. The Chiefs are still sitting atop the AFC West standings, but are now two games behind Baltimore for the top seed in the conference. And if that wasn’t enough, the Broncos are suddenly breathing down their necks as they sit just one game behind KC in the division standings.

Kansas City will travel to New England next Sunday.
