Week 14 of the NFL season has just about wrapped up with a few primetime games left to be played. We got our second team to officially be eliminated from postseason contention this week as the Patriots will miss playoffs for a second straight year. More eliminations will be on the way in the coming weeks and that means we’ll get an even better idea of who will be making the top picks in the draft this April.
Below, we’ll offer our third mock for the 2024 NFL Draft and upped it to the first 14 picks for this week:
We have a trade! Chicago still owns the No. 1 overall pick by way of the abysmal season Carolina is having. Up until this point, we’ve had them taking USC quarterback Caleb Williams with the top selection, who is the favorite to be taken No. 1 with -650 odds at DraftKings Sportsbook. However, the Bears have started showing signs of life with three wins in its last four games and quarterback Justin Fields has played well since he returned from injury. There’s a strong chance that the team decides to ride it out with Fields for another season and punt on using one of its two top 10 picks on a QB. They could decide to repeat last year and shop the top pick for a desperate QB-needy team that’s willing to trade up. Who could that be?

Las Vegas lost a 3-0 snoozefest against Minnesota on Sunday, dropping it to 5-8 on the season and to the No. 8 spot in the draft. Between Jimmy Garoppolo and Aidan O’Connell, the Silver and Black clearly do not have a QB on the roster that can lead this franchise into the future. And even with this being a QB-heavy draft, some of the top prospects may be gone by No. 8. So in this week’s mock exercise, we’ll project Mark Davis channelling his father by trading a draft haul to the Bears to select Williams with the No. 1 pick. The Bears will still have two top 10 picks and will use that to get Fields another dangerous weapon in LSU’s Malik Nabers and some offensive line help in Notre Dame’s Joe Alt.
