Game status update: McBride is officially active for Sunday’s game against Pittsburgh.
Game day update: Trey McBride is expected to play on Sunday vs. the Steelers, per Adam Schefter.
The season’s most surprising name in tight ends, Trey McBride, is dealing with a groin injury heading into Week 13. The Arizona Cardinals listed the second-year standout as questionable on the official injury report this week. After missing Wednesday’s session, he was able to get in back-to-back practices to end the week, putting him on track to playing.
The Cardinals are on the road to face the Pittsburgh Steelers this week. That game kicks off at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.

Fantasy football analysis
Losing McBride would be a tough one for the Cardinals, not to mention fantasy teams. He had seven catches for 60 yards on nine targets last week. He’s been the Cardinals’ most-targeted player since quarterback Kyler Murray returned to action.
The Steelers are a tough matchup for McBride and the Cardinals. The Steelers have allowed the ninth-fewest fantasy points to opposing tight ends this season. That said, the chemistry between Murray and McBride is impossible to ignore, and it’s hard to make a case for leaving him out of your lineup even with the ceiling lower this week.
NFL DFS analysis
McBride is sitting at $4,900 in DraftKings leagues this week, the sixth most expensive tight end available. I’m more concerned about the matchup than I am whether or not he’ll play this week. He’s not a bad addition to your lineup, given the target volume, but you can probably find someone with a higher ceiling this week for less.
Betting analysis
The Cardinals are 6.5-point underdogs in this one, The Cardinals are 6-4 against the spread this season, 2-2 over their last four. Obviously that would be a tougher gap to close without McBride.
