Here’s Brett Yormark getting booed out the building while handing Texas their last Big 12 Championship trophy

The No. 7 Texas Longhorns dominated the No. 18 Oklahoma State Cowboys in the Big 12 Championship Game on Saturday, picking up a 49-21 victory at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX. That meant Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark was forced to hand the league title trophy to the Horns, who are on their way out the door to the SEC next season.

Longhorn fans let him have it:

Yormark was predictably the biggest heel at AT&T Stadium and deservedly so, as he has publicly taken jabs at the outgoing Longhorns. Speaking at a Texas Tech luncheon in Lubbock prior to the season, he told Texas Tech head coach Joey McGuire to “take care of business” when the Red Raiders visited Texas during Thanksgiving weekend. Texas took umbrage with this and pulverized Tech 57-7 in Austin to clinch its spot in the conference title game. With Yormark in attendance, UT made sure the commish ate his own words by trolling him on the jumbotron.

And afterwards, the UT players revealed that they used his comments as motivation.

And now the Horns have gotten the last laugh by putting up a dominant performance in its final Big 12 game to claim the trophy. Now to be fair, Yormark did advocate for Texas’ inclusion into the College Football Playoff prior to Saturday’s game. But talk about getting egg on your face.
