These two sides met a month ago in a league matchup, ending in a scoreless draw at One Call Stadium. Mansfield outplayed the Red Dragons on paper, outshooting the visitors 20-8 overall while controlling 59% of possession. It was the first meeting between the sides since Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney took over at Wrexham and they’ll look to log a positive result in their second meeting.
Wrexham currently lead the Stags in the League Two table, sitting in third place with 30 points while Mansfield are in fourth place with 29, tied on points with Crewe Alexandra. The Stags are coming off 1-0 loss to Port Vale in round 4 of EFL Cup play, but they’re still unbeaten in EFL League Two so far this season, going 7-8-0 through their first 15 outings. They’ll look to start the FA Cup off on the right foot with a win over the Red Dragons at home.
Wrexham will look to take advantage of Mansfield suffering their first loss of the season across all competitions, and they’ve been very good on the road so far through the first chunk of the campaign. Take Phil Parkinson’s side to escape with a narrow win.
