Defenses play a bigger role than you would expect in fantasy football. A solid defense always ensures you that you’ll get right around 10 points weekly in a standard fantasy football league. With the playoffs in fantasy football getting closer and teams going on bye in the next two weeks, some could use the waiver wire for a defense. Below we take a look at the best defenses to consider adding on the waiver wire in fantasy football in Week 13.
Fantasy football waiver wire: D/ST pickups for Week 13
Atlanta Falcons D/ST
Rostership: 16.4%
It’s been a bumpy season for the Falcons so far this year. However, their defense has been solid. They’re coming off a solid game against the New Orleans Saints where Jessie Bates had an interception that he returned for a touchdown. They will match up with the New York Jets in Week 13. They should be an immediate add and start in the waiver wire. The Jets have turned the ball over a ton and allowed a ton of pressure on their quarterback. This feels like a game where we see multiple turnovers forced by the Falcons.
Indianapolis Colts D/ST
Rostership: 15.8%
The Colts have been all over the place this season, but their defense has come alive over the past few weeks. They have allowed 20 points, 6 points, and 13 points in their last three games. They’re also putting a ton of pressure on the quarterback. In the last three games, they have 15 sacks. They will now face the Tennessee Titans who have a struggling offensive line. Watch for more success from Indianapolis’ pass rush.
Jacksonville Jaguars D/ST
Rostership: 26.2%
It’s been an inconsistent season for the Jaguars defense. They came through when they needed to yesterday, however. Josh Allen is turning into a great pass rusher and has made plays in every game for this team. They match up with the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 13. In a regular game, I would stay away from the Jaguars defense here. Instead, Jake Browning will be the quarterback. I just feel like the offense will continue to be stale.
