Game status update: Walker wasn’t expected to play and has been ruled INACTIVE. per Adam Schefter.
Game day update: Walker is not expected to play against the 49ers on Thanksgiving, per Ian Rapoport.
The Seattle Seahawks are on a short week, with their next game scheduled as the night game on Thanksgiving Thursday. Seattle will welcome the San Francisco 49ers to town in a tough matchup that could become more tough due to the Seahawks’ injury report. Quarterback Geno Smith is questionable but expected to play while running back Kenneth Walker III is doubtful due to an oblique injury.
Walker picked up the “legit” oblique injury in the team’s loss to the Los Angeles Rams last week. He finished with only 18 yards on four carries. Walker didn’t practice this week and is not expected to play in this game. If he doesn’t, rookie RB Zach Charbonnet is expected to take over as the starter, with DeeJay Dallas serving as the backup.
Kenneth Walker III injury
Fantasy football analysis
Walker would be a huge absence for your fantasy football team. He is the overall RB9 in half-PPR scoring formats. The 49ers’ defense allows the seventh-fewest fantasy points per game to opposing running backs. With the injury and the lack of practice, you should plan not to have Walker this week. Charbonnet has some intrigue in 14-team leagues or larger from the anticipated workload, but with the matchup and no bye weeks, he is tough to start in smaller leagues.
NFL DFS analysis
Walker is the fifth-most expensive running back at DraftKings DFS. He is listed as doubtful there but will run you $6,200 to roster if you want to take the risk. You should either not include him in your lineup or wait until the injury reports come out an hour and a half before kickoff to see if he is playing. For reference, Charbonnet has a salary of $5,300, with Dallas installed at $4,400 against the San Francisco defense allowing the eighth-fewest DFS points per game to opposing running backs.
