Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields is set to return for his first action since Week 6. Fields suffered a dislocated thumb on his throwing hand. The Bears were 2-2 while he was out and it seemed their defense figured things out for the most part while he was out. This is an important stretch for Fields as he needs to prove to the Bears that he is QB1 moving forward. Fields will match up with the Detroit Lions in Week 11.
Fantasy Football analysis: Bears QB Justin Fields
Fields threw for 11 touchdowns and six interceptions for 1,201 yards. He has a 39.1 QBR which ranks 25th in the NFL. Fields hadn’t been able to get it going on the ground either. He had 47 carries for 237 yards and a touchdown. It was clear that they didn’t want him to use his legs a lot, but that played a large role in his success last season, so I would expect to see him running a bit more moving forward.
Start or sit in Week 11?
Fields should start in Week 11. Although he was one of the top quarterbacks drafted in fantasy drafts, he hadn’t played well whatsoever. He had a few strong weeks but has been a bust fantasy-wise so far. I think he will surprise some people with his return. The Lions have struggled against mobile quarterbacks in the past and I expect that to continue this week. In both 8-10 team leagues and 12-14 team leagues, Fields should start. The Lions are allowing 24 standard fantasy points per game to quarterback which is the 5th most in the NFL.
Player(s) you would start ahead of Justin Fields
Fields is listed as the No. 13 quarterback for this week on Fantasy Pros. A few guys around him that I would start over him are Kyler Murray and Josh Allen. Murray looked solid in his first game back and Allen needs a bounce back this week. It’s also just Fields’ first game back.
