Heinrich Haarberg, Jeff Sims, or Chubba Purdy: Who will start for Nebraska vs. Wisconsin?

Update 7:00 p.m. Chubba Purdy appears to be taking the first team snaps for the Huskers so far.

The line at DraftKings Sportsbook was as low as Nebraska as a 4.5 point underdog, but that is now up to +7 just before kickoff.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers will hit the road tonight to battle the Wisconsin Badgers at 7:30 p.m. ET and it is unclear whether Heinrich Haarberg, Chuba Purdy, or Jeff Sims will get the start at quarterback. Haarberg has served the Husker starter for most of the season, but exited last Saturday’s 13-10 loss to Maryland with an ankle injury. Head coach Matt Rhule told the media on Thursday that Haarberg has been limited in practice this week as Sims and Purdy have received most of the reps.

QB has been a position the Cornhuskers have tried to work out as the program navigates through Year 1 of the Rhule era. After Sims proved ineffective through the first two weeks, the sophomore Haarberg has provided a spark and has gotten the team on the verge of bowl contention. While he hasn’t been the most accurate through the air, he’s been effective as a runner and has led the team in rushing with 477 rushing yards and five touchdowns on the ground. Meanwhile, the sophomore Purdy has only appeared in three games and has gotten just a handful of touches.

Nebraska enters this matchup as a 5.5-point road underdog at DraftKings Sportsbook. The total is listed at 37.
