The Tampa Bay Buccaneers travel out west to take on the San Francisco 49ers in a Week 11 NFC matchup. The Bucs are aiming for back-to-back wins following a 20-6 victory over the Tennessee Titans in Week 10. Tampa Bay prevailed despite a quiet game from their emerging TE Cade Otton. With the stout 49ers defense awaiting, is he worth a start this week?

Fantasy Football analysis: Buccaneers TE Cade Otton

Otton caught just two catches for 10 yards last week. In Week 9 he finished with 6 catches for 70 yards and 2 touchdowns against the Texans. Otton enters Week 11 with 30 receptions, 254 yards receiving and 3 touchdowns.

Start or sit in Week 11 PPR leagues?

SIT. Baker Mayfield and the Bucs offense face a tough task this week. The 49ers defense has defended TEs well this season, allowing the third-fewest fantasy points to the position. Other areas of the pass attack will likely be utilized, making Otton a bench candidate this week.

Start or sit in Week 11 standard leagues?

SIT. This matchup is not ideal for Otton and expect other weapons on Tampa’s offense to get touches. Otton was targeted only 3 times last week, falling behind Mike Evans (10 targets), Chris Godwin (6 targets), and Trey Palmer (4 targets). San Francisco has allowed only one touchdown to TEs this season and that was in Week 1 against the Steelers. Look elsewhere, no real upside for Otton this Sunday.

Player(s) you would start ahead of Cade Otton

The Jets Tyler Conklin is coming off a nice seven catch, 70 yard game against the Raiders. He has upside against the Bills this week. Zach Wilson looks for Conklin often and he is a solid late-season add on the waiver wire.
