The Dallas Cowboys will take on the Carolina Panthers this week after securing a big 49-17 win over the Giants in Week 10. Brandin Cooks had his best performance of the season so far as he finished as the WR3 for the week, and he’ll look to keep that going into Week 11.
Fantasy Football analysis: Cowboys WR Brandin Cooks
Cooks caught 9-of-10 for 173 yards and a touchdown in the win over the Giants, bringing in an impressive 32.3 fantasy points in PPR leagues. His previous season high was 49 receiving yards as he absolutely blew that out of the water in Week 10. We can’t expect Cooks to replicate that performance every week, as he’s been seeing an average of 4.1 targets per game prior to last week’s outing.
Start or sit in Week 11 PPR leagues?
Sit. It’ll be tempting to stick Cooks in your starting lineup after the week he just had, but one great week won’t immediately turn Cooks into WR1 status. He should remain on waivers or on your bench in most leagues, but I could also see throwing him in your FLEX spot if you’re in a deeper league with 12-14 teams and options are running thin at receiver.
Start or sit in Week 11 standard leagues?
Sit. Cooks scored 23.3 points in standard leagues, which is still impressive, but he hasn’t brought in over 49 yards until this last outing. It was also just his third touchdown of the season, but his previous games didn’t even turn out worthy fantasy production numbers in standard leagues since his yard total has stayed relatively low. In fact, Week 10 saw Cooks rack up more receiving yards in one game than his previous combined season total of 165 from his first seven games.
Player(s) you would start ahead of Brandin Cooks
Cooks is the WR43 at FantasyPros in their PPR rankings ahead of Week 11. If you’re looking for a better option around his same tier, I’d look to Romeo Doubs or Rashee Rice, who are both WR3 quality but have some good matchups this week and should turn out decent scores.
