We have a late-season Pac-12 showdown in the desert this afternoon as the No. 6 Oregon Ducks fly south to battle the Arizona State Sun Devils. The game will kick off at 4 p.m. ET and will air on Fox.
Oregon (9-1, 6-1 Pac-12) is honing in on clinching a spot in the Pac-12 Championship Game and cleared another hurdle by taking down USC 36-27 last Saturday. Bo Nix set it off from the word go as his first two passes of the game were for big touchdowns, a 77-yarder to Tez Johnson followed by an 84-yarder to Troy Franklin. The Ducks were able to withstand a fourth-quarter comeback attempt by the Trojans to notch another home victory at Autzen.
Arizona State (3-7, 2-5 Pac-12) was able to upset UCLA in a 17-7 victory last Saturday, an outcome that reportedly has the Bruins brass on the verge of firing Chip Kelly. This game was a puntfest for a good chunk of the evening as both teams failed to muster up much offense. Up 10-7 in the fourth, the Sun Devils orchestrated a 12-play, 75-yard drive that burned over six minutes off the clock and was capped by a 17-yard Cameron Skattebo touchdown run. The defense was then able to force a turnover on downs to effectively seal the game.
