Update 6:53 p.m. Bean was announced as the starter in the stadium, and it seems he is a go for the Jayhawks.
Update 6:13 p.m. Bean continues to warm up, and appears to be ready to go as of now. The spread had Kansas as much as a 10-point underdog earlier today at DraftKings Sportsbook, but that currently stands at just +7.

The Kansas Jayhawks face the Kansas State Wildcats in an in-state rivalry matchup on Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET. Last week, Jayhawks quarterback Jason Bean sustained a head injury in the first quarter against Texas Tech that kept him out of the remainder of the game.
Will Bean be back against K-State?
Kansas’ offensive coordinator confirmed that Bean had been taking reps at practice after the head injury this week. Bean will be a game time decision for the Jayhawks today.

If Bean doesn’t play, backup Cole Ballard, a true freshman, will come in under center. Ballard stepped in last week when Bean was injured, and finished the day 9-for-20 for 124 yards and an interception.
Bean is technically a backup as well, though he has started the majority of Kansas’ games this season. Starter Jalon Daniels was sidelined with a back injury earlier this season.
