The NBA In-Season Tournament resumes tonight with East Group A action as the Philadelphia 76ers hit the road to battle the Atlanta Hawks. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET.
Philadelphia (8-3) is trying to get back on track after dropping back-to-back games this week, the latest coming in a 117-107 setback against the Celtics on Wednesday. This was a one-point game midway through the fourth before a 6-0 Boston run gave the Celtics enough cushion to put the Sixers away. Meanwhile, Atlanta (6-5) will try gain some positive momentum after suffering a 116-114 loss to the Knicks on Wednesday. The Knicks were able to gain the edge in the final minute of action and a pair of Immanuel Quickley free throws was enough to seal it for New York.
On the injury front, Joel Embiid is dealing with some hip soreness and is listed as questionable for the 76ers. Kelly Oubre Jr. remains out with fractured ribs following the hit-and-run incident from last week.
Philadelphia enters this game as a 1-point favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook, with the total set at 236.5. It’s a pick ‘em on the moneyline with both teams listed at -110.
76ers vs. Hawks, 7:30 p.m. ET
Pick ATS: Hawks +1
Embiid has been mostly healthy so far this season, but the early line suggests that he may not suit up for the 76ers tonight. And if he does, he most likely won’t be at 100%. Coming off a close loss at home on Wednesday, I’ll lean towards the Hawks handling their business and picking up a win this evening.
Over/Under: Over 236.5
Both of these teams rank in the top five in points per 100 possessions, so we know that they can both score at a fast and efficient pace. I expect this to be a high-scoring affair with or without Embiid on the floor, so I’ll go with the over in this one.
