Seahawks vs. Rams, Week 11: Pick against the spread
Seattle rebounded in Week 10 with a close 29-26 win over the Washington Commanders. Thanks to a handful of big throws from Geno Smith, the Seahawks left Lumen Field with a Jason Meyers walk-off field goal to move them to 6-3 on the season, and tied with the San Franciso 49ers for first in the NFC West. Smith has looked like a distant version of the Comeback Player of the Year campaign he engineered last season, but he’ll relied upon on Sunday to potentially tie the series one game apiece with the Rams.
The Rams are riding a three-game losing streak heading into Week 11, as injuries across the offense have thrown a wrench into what was a promising start to the season. However, help is on the way as Matthew Stafford is set to return from a thumb injury that forced him to miss just one game. Los Angeles has been outscored by an average of 20.0 PPG in the last two weeks, and they hold a record of just 1-3 at home this season.
Both of these teams are an equal 4-4-1 against the spread this season, although when it comes to facing divisional opponents, the Rams have been perfect. Los Angeles boasts a 3-0 record against the spread versus NFC West foes, and in what is essentially a pick ‘em game, the return of Stafford should give them the edge in this affair.
This defense, while not close to the level of their Super Bowl Championship team, managed to hold the Seahawks to 13 points on the road in Week 1, and with Smith completing just 65.3 percent of his passes (21st), it’s hard to remain confident in Seattle’s offense on the road. Take the Rams at home to pull out the win, especially with Stafford back under center.
