The No. 7 Texas Longhorns will host the No. 23 Kansas State Wildcats in a huge Big 12 showdown at noon ET this afternoon and quarterback Quinn Ewers is expected to miss today’s game with his shoulder injury. Backup Maalik Murphy will make his second straight start after leading the team to a 35-6 win over BYU last Saturday.
Ewers suffered a shoulder injury in the fourth quarter of their 31-24 victory over Houston two weeks ago. It was determined that the injury wasn’t a season-ender for the Southlake, TX, native, but he would miss some time before the end of the campaign. Head coach Steve Sarkisian said earlier in the week that the QB remains week-to-week. As for five-star true freshman quarterback Arch Manning, he will remain a backup unless Murphy goes down with an injury.
Texas enters this matchup as a four-point home favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook, with the total set at 50.
