The BYU Cougars will head to Morgantown to face the West Virginia Mountaineers tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET and Jake Retzlaff is expected to get the start at quarterback. Regular starter Kedon Slovis has been dinged up and is reportedly dealing with a shoulder injury ahead of this Big 12 showdown. He did travel with the team and will be on standby in case of an emergency.
Slovis had a really rough time in last week’s 35-6 loss at Texas, going 25-40 for 197 yards and two interceptions in the blowout. The fifth-year transfer senior from USC/Pitt has had his ups and downs in his first year in Provo as he’s completed 57.5% of his passes for 1,716 yards with 12 touchdowns and six interceptions. Meanwhile, Retzlaff will get his first action at BYU after transferring from Riverside City College last offseason.
BYU enters the game as a 12.5-point road underdog at DraftKings Sportsbook, with the total set at 48.5.
