It was national tight ends day in the NFL on Sunday. And we saw some of the best tight ends in the NFL have successful games. Isn’t that a coincidence? Travis Kelce, Mark Andrews, Darren Waller, and Dallas Goedert all scored touchdowns on Sunday.
Below we take a look at some of the best tight end options on the waiver wire for Week 8.
Fantasy football waiver wire: TE pickups for Week 8
Logan Thomas, Washington Commanders
Rostership: 36.9%
It’s shocking to me to see Logan Thomas available in this many fantasy leagues. He’s one of Sam Howell’s favorite targets and it consistently shows. Thomas caught four passes for 51 yards against the New York Giants. The Commanders’ bye week is on Week 14, so he will be available for the next few weeks. If you have a need at the tight end position and he’s available, he should be the top option.
Dalton Kincaid, Buffalo Bills
Rostership: 31.3%
Kincaid was great for the Bills on Sunday. He led the Bills in receiving with eight receptions for 75 yards. Many questioned the Bills after drafting a tight end in the first round in the 2023 NFL Draft. It looks to be a good decision as it seems that he will be one of Josh Allen’s favorite targets in the near future. Pairing him and Stefan Diggs is a scary duo. He’s out there in a good amount of fantasy leagues and should be added if available.
Luke Musgrave, Green Bay Packers
Rostership: 27%
This rookie tight end class is one of the best we have seen in a long time. This was a good year to need a tight end because there were a ton with great value. Musgrave was a second-round pick but has had a major impact on the Packers offense. Musgrave caught four passes for 30 yards against the Denver Broncos. Health has been the only question with Musgrave and he suffered another injury in this week’s matchup. Regardless, I would add him and stash him as the injury shouldn’t have him out for too long.
Michael Mayer, Las Vegas Raiders
Rostership: 9.5%
Mayer was a second-round pick from Notre Dame for the Raiders. It took some time to adjust to the NFL play, but Mayer is seeing his role take a big step with this offense. He was only targeted four times in Week 7, but the previous week he had five receptions for 75 yards. Jimmy Garoppolo is expected to be back next week which is big for Mayer’s production.
