Fantasy football playoffs are not too far away as we’re already to Week 8 in the NFL. Unless you have a Justin Tucker, Jake Elliott, Harrison Butker, etc., there is a good chance that you are picking up kickers weekly based on matchups.
Below we take a look at some of the best kicking options on the waiver wire for Week 8.
Fantasy football waiver wire: Kicker pickups for Week 8
Brandon McManus, Jacksonville Jaguars
Rostership: 28.1%
McManus is a solid kicker that got off to a slow start just like the Jaguars offense has as a whole. But he is starting to have some success as he hasn’t missed a field goal since his Week 3 matchup with the Houston Texans where he missed two. He’s been accurate and Doug Pederson is giving him chances. Since Week 6, McManus is 4-4 on field goal attempts and 8-8 on extra point attempts.
Cameron Dicker, Los Angeles Chargers
Rostership: 20.3%
Dicker has not been as good as many expected this year. The Chargers offense is usually scoring 27+ points per game, but they have struggled this season. They do have a solid matchup for him in the next few games however. In Week 8, they take on the Chicago Bears who have not been good defensively this season. They had a strong showing in Week 7, but still allowed two field goals and three field goal attempts to Daniel Carlson.
Dustin Hopkins, Cleveland Browns
Rostership: 18.4%
Hopkins is a great option to pick up in fantasy this week. He’s scored 15+ standard fantasy points in the past two weeks and went for 22 standard fantasy points in Week 7 against the Indianapolis Colts. The Browns offense is not strong, but that works well for kickers. They can get to the opponents 30-40 yard line which gets Hopkins multiple chances at 4+ points from kickers.
Cairo Santos, Chicago Bears
Rostership: 10.2%
With Justin Fields out, Tyson Bagent is the starting quarterback. He is solid and should have a good future in this league, but I expect the Bears to play things safe with him. They will take the points when they get opportunities and have tentative play calling in opponent territory. Watch for Santos to start breaking out over the next few weeks.
