The 2023 World Series matchup is halfway set after the Rangers shocked the Astros in Game 7 of the ALCS in Houston, but regardless of who comes out of the National League, we know when the first pitch of the Fall Classic will take place.

The Fall Classic will get underway on Friday, September 27, and no matter what, Game 1 will take place at Globe Life Park in Arlington. (Home-field advantage in the World Series is determined by winning percentage this season; while the Rangers and Phillies both finished at 90-72, Texas would win the tiebreaker thanks to taking the team’s three-game, season-opening series.) Game 2 will take place on Saturday, Games 3 through 5 (if necessary) will take place on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and Games 6 and 7 (again if necessary) will take place on Friday, Nov. 3 and Saturday, Nov. 4. If all seven games are needed, that would tie the record for the latest ending to a Major League season, tying the 2001 and 2009 World Series.
The Rangers will host Games 1 and 2, and would host Games 6 and 7 if they proved necessary. Either the Phillies or Diamondbacks would host Games 3 and 4, and then Game 5 if it was necessary.
Texas has reached its first World Series since making consecutive Fall Classics back in 2010 (loss to the Giants) and 2011 (loss to the Cardinals). They rolled through the Wild Card and Divisional rounds before storming back from 3-2 down on the road to topple the in-state rival Astros in the ALCS.
