The Milwaukee Bucks and Giannis Antetokounmpo have agreed to a three-year contract extension worth $186 million, according to Adrian Wojnarowski. The deal includes a player option for the 202-7-28 season, but more importantly ties Antetokounmpo to the only franchise he’s ever known for the foreseeable future.

This extension will kick in for the 2025-26 season, where Antetokounmpo initially held a player option. It’s an important signing for both parties. The Bucks made a big move to land Damian Lillard in part because of Antetokounmpo’s comments about wanting to be with the franchise, and the Greek Freak now gets the long-term security he wanted. It also allows the team to focus solely on chasing championships instead of worrying about finances or the drama of a contract negotiation.
According to DraftKings Sportsbook, the Bucks are co-favorites with the Celtics to lift the 2023-24 NBA title at +400. If Lillard and Antetokounmpo can click seamlessly, that number will get much smaller as the year goes on.
