The Miami Dolphins have been selected as this year’s in-season team for HBO’s Hard Knocks, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. No official date has been set for the first episode, but it will debut later in the fall and carry through for the rest of the regular season and potentially the postseason if the Dolphins qualify.
The popular HBO series has been running strong for over two decades now and has traditionally followed a single NFL franchise during training camp, capturing all of the behind-the-scenes moments as the team prepares for the regular season. Since 2021, however, HBO has added an in-season version of the series, dropping in on a franchise around the midway point of the campaign. The Indianapolis Colts were the first team selected in 2021 and the Arizona Cardinals were tabbed in 2022.
Miami is certainly an interesting team to choose for this year’s project as it has emerged as a legitimate AFC contender early in the campaign. The Tua Tagovailoa-led offense has lit up the scoreboard through the first seven weeks and speedy skill position players like Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, Raheem Mostert, and rookie De’Von Achane have already put up big numbers. It will intriguing to see them and head coach Mike McDaniel on a week-to-week basis.
