Auburn was able to cut into Texas A&M’s lead in the fourth quarter of today’s game by way of a Eugene Asante scoop-n-score touchdown. The Tigers got a little bit of help on the return by…Jimbo Fisher?

Standing on the field, the Texas A&M head coach served as an inadvertent blocker for Asante as the junior linebacker took it to the house for six. He obviously had to freeze and not do anything in that situation, but there was an opportunity to take a page out of late Alabama fullback Tommy Lewis.
During the 1954 Cotton Bowl, Lewis came off the sideline to tackle Rice halfback Dick Moegle. Moegle would be awarded a touchdown as Rice would go on to smash the Crimson Tide 28-6. When asked about why he did it, Lewis famously said he “was just too full of Alabama.”
We’ll see if this scoop-n-score sparks a late comeback by Auburn.
