Sunday’s NBA Summer League slate features eight games, headlined by Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama facing off against Trail Blazers rookie Scoot Henderson. No. 2 pick Brandon Miller will also be in action with the Hornets face the Lakers. A Thompson twins matchup was set to take place but Amen Thompson suffered an ankle sprain Friday and is out for the rest of Summer League. Ausar Thompson should be action though.

NBA Summer League recaps
Cavaliers 99, Raptors 76
Isaiah Mobley and Sam Merrill were the top contributors for Cleveland, combining for 29 points. Five Cavaliers players hit double figures in scoring in what eventually turned into a blowout. Gradey Dick started off well for the Raptors but finished 5-13 from the floor and managed just 11 points.
Lakers 93, Hornets 75
Brandon Miller had an off day with 10 points on 17 shots, and there wasn’t much support from the rest of the Hornets. On the Lakers’ side, Colin Castleton had a double-double with 21 points and 14 rebounds. Max Christie had a rough showing with just 11 points on 3-10 shooting.
Nets 98, Knicks 80
This was a big game for the Nets, who had four players hit double figures in scoring. Armoni Brooks led the way with 21 points, while Jalen Wilson added 18 points and eight rebounds. Wilson also went 3-4 from behind the arc. For the Knicks, Charlie Brown Jr. was the leading scorer with 16 points.
Rockets 113, Pistons 101
Jabari Smith might be shut down for the rest of Summer League after this game. He dropped 38 points in the win, adding six assists and seven rebounds as well. Cam Whitmore and Tari Eason also had monster games for the Rockets, who look like they have built an exciting young core that just needs some guidance. For the Pistons, Jaden Ivey dropped 22 points and dished out 10 assists. Jalen Duren and James Wiseman also had double-doubles for Detroit.
Wizards 103, Celtics 98
Justin Champagnie was the best player for the Celtics with 21 points, 12 rebounds and six assists. However, he couldn’t outdo Washington’s balanced offense with seven players in double figures. Johnny Davis had a solid outing for the Wizards with 14 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals. He’s a second-year player who could potentially break out with extended minutes this year.
Trail Blazers 85, Spurs 80
Scoot Henderson didn’t suit up due to a shoulder issue, but the big story here was Victor Wembanyama bouncing back from a rough debut. The Spurs rookie put up 27 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks in this game. More importantly, he looked much more comfortable and assertive on the floor. We’ll see if Wembanyama gets to keep playing or if San Antonio decides it has seen enough to shut him down.
Hawks 98, Nuggets 93
Tyrese Martin, Atlanta’s second-round pick from last year, was the engine offensively with 21 points for the Hawks on 8-12 shooting. Kobe Bufkin was less efficient but contributed nicely with 17 points, six assists and five rebounds. On Denver’s side, three players had 16 points each. Jalen Pickett and Hunter Tyson, two of the Nuggets’ selections in the 2023 NBA Draft, were among the three with Collin Gillespie being the other one.
Pelicans 94, Warriors 86
This was a big game for Dyson Daniels, who is expected to take a big step this year and potentially be New Orleans’ best point guard. He finished with 17 points, 15 rebounds and eight assists. Jordan Hawkins had 15 points but went 1-6 from behind the arc. On Golden State’s side, Brandin Podziemski struggled from the floor but still almost got a triple-double with 10 points, 10 assists and nine rebounds. Lester Quinones went off for 26 points and could be playing his way into a roster spot.
