How the Bucs Super Bowl odds have changed during the 2020 season

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are headed to Super Bowl 55 where they will face the Kansas City Chiefs. We break down the Bucs odds over the past year from when they opened a year ago to where they stand now.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers ended last season on a mixed note, as they played well enough to be in the playoff hunt, but came up short. That put the Bucs in a dilemma as to if they should stick with quarterback Jameis Winston or look to upgrade after he topped 30 interceptions.

Following the season, the Buccaneers were +5000 to win the Super Bowl. Only nine teams had worse odds. But, following free agency, when they landed Tom Brady, those odds dropped to +2000. Then, following the NFL Draft, they fell to +1200 and eventually settled at +1400 before Week 1.

With Covid-19 shutting down off-season workouts, the Buccaneers were very much behind the eight-ball as they tried to bring Brady into the fold and it showed much of the season and in their Super Bowl Odds.

After Week 8, they sat at 6-2 and dropped all the way to +650 to win it all. But then they lost three out of their next four games to go to 7-5 while their odds fell all the way to +1700 after losses to the Rams and Chiefs. But, they then went on to win their last four games in decisive fashion, bringing their SB odds back down to +1000 going into the playoffs.

Now that we are here, the Chiefs are at -162, while the Buccaneers are at +143 to win the big game. Can they go from +5000 to Super Bowl champs in a year? There are likely some betters out their clutching those +5000 tickets in great anticipation.
