What happened to Christian Pulisic? Live injury updates for USA vs. Paraguay on 6/12/26

UPDATE: Head coach Mauricio Pochettino says Pulisic suffered a minor injury and was taken off as a precaution.

The first half of the World Cup opener was as good as you’d hope for as a Team USA fan. They raced out to a lead in the first 10 minutes, and went up 3-0 heading into halftime. But coming out of halftime, some bad news: Christian Pulisic was removed from the game.

No injury was listed for Pulisic. It’s always concerning when a key player comes out on the bench after halftime. For what it’s worth, FOX sideline reporter Jenny Taft said that Pulisic motioned that he was OK, but that’s far from an official statement.

Before leaving the game, Pulisic recorded an assist while creating some big chances for the USMNT. He was replaced by defensive midfielder Sebastian Berhalter, as Mauricio Pochettino protects his big lead.
